Marc Bartomeus - Founder and Managing Director

Marc is the founder and managing director of Ariol Capital. Prior to founding Ariol Capital, Marc worked for a lower-middle market private equity firm in Boston. Previously, he held several business development and sales management positions at Promax Electronics in Barcelona, Agilent Technologies in Stuttgart and Hewlett-Packard in Madrid. Marc holds an industrial engineering degree from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Rob Johnson - Partner

Rob is a partner with Delta Partners and serves on the advisory board of Palamon Capital Partners. He has served as a director of many private companies and has been actively involved in those companies from their early financings through to successful trade sales and IPOs. Rob holds an MBA from Darden School, University of Virginia. He currently teaches at IESE Business School and was also on the faculty of London Business School for ten years.

Scott Asen - Partner

Scott spent many years in the venture capital industry, successfully managing a family of funds for a wealthy New York investor. He is currently investing solely for his personal account, managing a portfolio of public and private equity investments. He sits on several corporate boards and is a graduated from Harvard College.

León Bartolomé - Partner

León is the founder and managing partner of BBVA & Partners, a hedge fund in Madrid. Prior to founding BBVA & Partners, León worked for Banco Santander and Bank of America. León holds an MBA from IESE Business School and is an angel investor.

Peter Kelly - Partner

Peter is the former CEO of Pacific Pulmonary Services (PPS), a company backed by Housatonic Partners. He currently serves on the board of various private companies. Peter holds an MBA from Stanford University and lives in Madrid with his wife and two children.

Luis Martín Cabiedes - Partner

Since 1998, Luis has been investing in start-ups, first as a business angel and most recently through his fund CABIEDES & PARTNERS. Previously, he was co-president of Europa Press Group for 12 years. Luis holds a degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, an MBA from IESE Business School and is a CFA charterholder. Luis is also part-time professor at IESE Business School.

Sandro Mina - Partner

Sandro is a founding Partner of Sverica International and serves on several portfolio company boards both in the US and Europe. Sandro earned his engineering degree from Imperial College at the University of London and his MBA degree at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Maurice Pinto - Partner

Maurice is an investor, entrepreneur and former part-time professor at London Business School. He co-founded Sea Containers in 1965. He co-led the buy-out of SDX Business Systems, a telephone equipment business, and eventually sold to Lucent in 1998. He is a prolific angel investor and was the only investor in Innocent, the well known UK maker of smoothies and is one of Innocent's major shareholders. Maurice received his undergraduate degree in economics from Yale University and an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. Maurice had lived in Madrid and has broad experience with investments in Spain.

Jürgen Rilling – Partner

Jürgen is owner and MD of Mirablau, a German investment and consulting group. Mirablau holds several private equity and VC investments. Before founding Mirablau in 2001 he worked with industry leading companies like Rodenstock and Roland Berger & Partner. He currently serves on several advisory boards. Jürgen holds a Masters degree of engineering from Technical University of Munich and graduated from IESE Business School (MBA).

William Thorndike - Partner

William founded Housatonic Partners in Boston in 1994 and has been Managing Director since that time. Prior to that, he worked with T. Rowe Price Associates and Walker & Company. William is a graduate of Harvard College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a director on several company boards in the US and Europe.

Simon Webster - Partner

Simon acquired Rehabilitation Services Ltd. in 1995. As the CEO of RSL, he grew the business from £3.5m to £30m sales over a ten year period. He successfully sold the business in December 2005. Simon remains entrepreneurial and is an active angel investor. Simon holds an MBA from London Business School.
